SET UP SCAN IN A LOCAL NETWORK USING CANON IR ADVANCE SERIES PRINTER

 

To set up scanner in a local network for scan do the following steps to configure it.

1.         Connect your printer to the local network with UTP cable to the network port of the printer

2.         Go to This Pc or My computer and double click to open it as shown in the figure below:

3.         Go to the Home tab and click New Folder as shown below and rename it as scan as shown below:

4.         Then right click the folder scan and go to the properties as shown in the figure below

5.         Then the following dialogue box will appear as shown below and 

6.         Then in the tab above the box click sharing as shown below

7.         In the figure above in the Network File and Folder Sharing shown in the dialogue box click share as shown below

8.         After click share the following dialogue box will appear as shown below:

9.         Click to Add users as shown dialogue box above and then after select Everyone and click Add button then select Read/Write as shown and click Share button after the following dialogue box will appear

10.         Then click Done.

11.         Go to the browser and type the IP address of the printer as shown below and enter the username and password to login in the printer 

After you put the username and password click login:

12.         Then the following figure below will appear

13.         Click Address Book as shown in the figure above then the following figure will appear:

14.         As shown in the figure above go to the Address List 01 then the following figure below will appear

15.         In the figure click Register New Destination then the figure below will appear which show you Register New Destination E-mail

16.         In the Type shown in the figure above choose file as shown in the figure below and then click set.

17.         After click set the following figure will appear as shown below:

18.         In the figure above write your name and Hostname as shown below. To get your hostname go to the scan folder and right click properties as I explain from step 1 to 7 as shown and copy this link

19.         Then the after put your hostname the figure will look like this:

20.         In the figure above click setting where hostname your write ok, then the figure below will appear

21.         In the figure above write the username of your pc or computer which you used to login to your computer as shown and if you login using password write your password if not leave blank and then click ok and then ok to finish the process.

22.         Go to the control panel as shown below and click Network and Internet

23.         Then the following figure will appear as shown below:

24.         In the figure above click Network and Sharing center then the following figure will appear

25.         Go to change advanced sharing setting and click as shown above then the figure below will appear

26.         In the figure above click Private list down menu will appear click or all setting put on as shown below:

27.         In the figure above click Guest or Public and put all settings on as shown in the figure below

28.         In the figure above click Domain and set all settings to on as shown in the figure below

29.         In the figure above click All Networks and set all settings on, Note if you are not used password in your computer do not turn on all settings. Some other version of windows will show you password and sharing protection so leave it as off okay.

Then click Save changes as shown in the figure above.
